Staying Connected

Dear Friends in Christ,

“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it out to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:3-6

This is my prayer for you. I thank God for all of you and with joy because of the faith God has given you in Jesus Christ. And because of our faith, we are partners in the gospel of Jesus Christ together. While we are not physically together God is still using us to share Jesus to a world that is worried and anxious and fearful. God is using all of us to share the hope that we have in Jesus Christ.

I also want you to know how appreciative we are with all the positive feedback we have received since we have begun our online services. God has provided us with an amazing team of people and resources to get our services online. We continue to learn and evaluate each time so that it will get even better. If you cannot watch stream our services please let the church office know and we will get you a DVD or CD of our services. Our desire is to stay connected with you as much as we are able. While the church doors are not open, the Church is not closed and reaching more and more people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world.

Our online services can be viewed in several ways on YouTube. Through a web browser on your TV, phone, or computer, simply go to YouTube.com. Search for “Christ Lutheran Church Yuma.” You will see the live stream as well as previously recorded and streamed worship services. You can search for the same channel if you have the YouTube App on your TV or phone. The link to the YouTube channel can also be accessed at ChristYuma.org, click on “Worship Live Stream” in the menu bar, and click on the link.

The Christ Lutheran Church App is also a useful tool during this time. The YouTube channel can be accessed by clicking on the hamburger menu on the top right, clicking on “Social Media,” and then on “YouTube.” The church app is also a simple way to submit a prayer request and give online. You can also view the latest newsletter and hear the latest sermon in audio format. Search for Christ Yuma in the App Store or Google Play to download the app.

Thank you to all of you, who have either mailed your offering, brought it to the church office or are giving online. Another way you can give is through your bank. If you have bill pay, you can set it up to have your offering delivered to Christ Lutheran. If you would like to start giving online you can sign-up on our website at Christyuma.org or sign-up using the church app. I know for a lot of people when they are fearful, they are want to hold tight to their resources. I believe like always, that this is a time to trust God and give to Him first and He promises that He will give us what we need. If your circumstances have changed, we understand and you can adjust your giving as the Lord leads. Together, as each one of us gives as the Lord leads us, He will provide all the resources we need for His ministry.

Please continue to pray for those who are sick, for those who have lost loved ones, for those who are on the front lines treating this virus, for those who have lost their jobs, for those whose businesses are hurting, for those who are teaching online, for parents helping their children and for children learning in a new way. Pray with thanksgiving for all that God will do as He continues to work good in the lives of those who love Him.

Thank you for your partnership in the Gospel and I can’t wait to see you face to face,

Pastor Harman
